What is a Belicoso?

The Belicoso attracts attention for its shape. What is this shape meant to deliver? Let’s start from the beginning.

What is a Belicoso?

Almost every cigar shape is given a name in Spanish. Belicoso in Spanish means bellicose. Synonyms: aggressive, feisty, belligerent, combative, warrior, martial. The Belicoso falls into the category of "figurados". They are easily recognizable by their head, consisting of the tip of a pyramid.

Belicoso Size

A traditional Belicoso is 5 to 6.5 inches long with a 48 to 55-ring gauge. Belicoso cigars are suited for cigar lovers who appreciate the concentration offered by a torpedo cigar but often prefer a crisper draw with a little less intensity. Depending on the length of the cigar, a Belicoso will take between 40 and 60 minutes to smoke.

The Belicoso will be the fourth size of Chateau Diadem’s Conviction Blend, and we’ve just woken them up from a 6 month-long slumber in our resting room. They’re finally available for sale through our authorized distributors.
